Shared Decision Making Accomplishments
Clinical nursing staff involvement in
making decisions which impact their practice has been in place at York
Hospital for several years. Whether it be the Nursing Clinical Council
of the late 1990's, the clinical staff who re-designed the clinical
ladder in 1999, the staff who designed the Patient Care Tower from
200-2005, or the Shared Decision Making Design team of 2002-2003, staff
nurse input has been heard and valued at the hospital, service line and
unit levels.
The York Hospital Shared Decision Making Model continues to grow and
mature. The journey has not always been smooth or easy, but the vision
of strengthening the professional practice environment for our nursing
staff continues to be our compass.
Below are links to information about each council that make up the Shared Decision Making
process including the leaders, members and accomplishments of the
respective councils for 2005.
